Do you remember when you were young running around blowing these to either tell the time or make a wish?
I saw a caption on Pinterest recently about this, and it got me thinking & clicking (its the field near the clinic). And the connection to Acupuncture is exactly what………. you ask? My thoughts are about how acupuncture for the majority of folk is like a field of wishes, it brings hope, wellness, pain relief, calmness, relaxation. Sadly for the odd few folk it’s more of a weed proving to be not particularly useful. Why is that? well sometimes if folk don’t attend often enough or for long enough the results just don’t happen their wishes don’t come true. Sometimes folk feel better before they truely are and stop coming and hence their problem returns. For others there may be structural issues that need addressing first, so that acupuncture can work better.
There will always be folk whom we will never know why it’s not helping them and have to accept that wonderful and powerful though this medicine is it cannot fix or sort every single person who comes through the door. I have no qualms in refering out to whom I feel will be best to sort matters out, be that an osteopath, a physiotherapist, a medic, a homeopath or massage therapist.
So, What do You see, a field of wishes or a field of weeds?
