February 27th – March 4th was the first ever Acupuncture Awareness Week in the U.K. Existing clients were no doubt happy to receive a surprise reduced rate treatment session in connection with this. Others who are due to return in the future (there’s a definite ebb & flow to client’s attendances) have been offered the first treatment of their next course at a reduced rate (if I accidentally omitted to send you an email about the offer’s just shout out & I’ll rectify it). It was such a good idea having this, as it raises the profile of this wonderful medicine.
March 24th and 25th see’s a group of us Essex acupuncturists getting together in the Essex Acupuncture Room (Writtle) for a continuous professional development event. We are looking forward the Obstetric & Gynaecology course run by the esteemed Jani White of NatureChild. This event alongside great learning give us the opportunity to hang out and network with our colleagues which is always a treat.
Last week I was at Herts & Essex Fertility Centre, I knew this wonderful team when they were at Holly House in Buckhurst Hill and guess what?, they are still doing wonderful work but in a nicer environment. Had a meeting with their clinical services manager, who it turns out I did my Registered General Nurse training with back in the year dot. I think it is important having recriprocal links with these local centres as together we do good work.
By now you most likely know that Writtle is no longer functioning as a multi-bed clinic. Affordable medicine is still high on the agenda, so I am going to do a trial of low cost (same price as the multi-bed £25 per session) treatments for the next 6 months and see how it goes. Please spread the word wide and far that this service is available.
Oh and did I mention it’s St. Patrick’s day tomorrow ? I realise he’s not the patron saint of acupuncture, but he gives us Irish a license for fun, off now to brush my green wig.
